Bio: Kiki is a makeup artist based between Cairo and New York. He started his career in business development. Through a long experience with international coordination he decided to shift his focus from Business Development to Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility. After receiving extensive training in Copenhagen for over two years, he acquired the requisite skills to create bridges and networks between corporations and communities. Although business inclined, he constantly tried to pursue his artistic interests. A course in fashion illustration and drawing cemented his desire to work with design and style, be it fashion or otherwise. It was his training in Corporate Social Responsibility that inspired him to actively develop his potential in not only mediating communication, but also his potential as an artist. A brief search for make up schools pointed him out to the exceptional program at the Make Up Forever Academy. He decided then and there that he will apply and pursue his passion, no matter what. Having no prior professional training as a make up artist, nonetheless he embarked on a journey of discovery and created a portfolio and sent it to the Academy in New York. His first attempts at artistic creation earned him the admiration of his future teachers and made him more certain of his choice. Before finishing his course at the Academy he was already featured as student of the month, becoming the first student to be featured on the Academy’s website

Kiki’s work is inspired by his cultural legacy and heritage. He derives a lot of his inspiration from iconic Egyptian visual culture in cinema, music and legendary performing arts. In addition to his connection to his context, he draws heavily from glamour and fashion and the various artistic subcultures, ranging from punk rock, Hollywood to drag aesthetic. The vision he aspires for his work is one with constant experimentation with all artistic practices and milieus.
